Aerobic Exercise as A Natural Way of Improving Heart Health

With the growth of fast food restaurants and food delivery services around the world, the statistical rate of overweight and obese people is increasing rapidly. This had led to an increase in the prevalence of diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, psychosocial disabilities and even greater economic strain. Aerobic training has been proved more effective as compared to other exercises especially when it comes to the reduction of liver fat and the burning of 67% more calories than other normal exercises. Obese people can achieve weight loss through burning more calories than they consume and embarking on a healthy diet.

What Is Aerobic Exercise?

Aerobic Exercises are sometimes referred to as cardio. They are highly recommended and beneficial for general health because of their stimulating nature. These exercises stimulate the breathing and heart rate. This helps in the pumping of oxygenated blood throughout the body to working muscles.  They should be carried out at a moderate intensity as this sustains a healthy breathing and heart rate. Overdoing an aerobic exercise leads to it being Anaerobic.  Examples are swimming, running, walking, hiking, dancing, kickboxing, water aerobics and skiing among others.

Types of Effective Aerobic Exercises for People with High Cholesterol

Walking. This is the standard beginner aerobic exercise. It does not need any equipment apart from comfortable wear, and it can be done by anyone.  This is a great start for people with high BMI (Body Mass Indexes) since it is easier to vary the intensity as per your fitness level. It can also be done anywhere, outdoors to even under the comfort of your own home on a treadmill.

Swimming. This is a fun way of losing weight since it is a cheat code exercise. This means swimming is mentally registered as fun thus the loss of calories will not be strenuous. This exercise only proves strenuous to people who do not swim and people with joint aches. Alternatively, such people can embark on water walking and water aerobics that depend on water buoyancy thus reducing the stress exertion on joints.

Cycling. A stationary bicycle or a regular one may be used. It is an ideal exercise for people with orthopedic problems like arthritis. That people can only walk for short periods without difficulty or pain. This is a good aerobic exercise for individuals who are obese or overweight since it aids the heart and breathing rate without exerting too much stress on pressure points like hips, knees, ankles or even the back.

Aerobic dance. Dancing is a fun way to lose those calories. It is a hobby for some and a talent to others. This is an all-around fitness exercise, which is diverse and flexible since the dance moves will be in line with your preferred music genre preference.

All in all, ensure that your health practitioner signs off on the exercise program before you begin; this is because we have different bodies and putting an equal amount of strain on everyone is not technical. This will help guide you on what to pick for your exercise program.
